We start this exciting tour with a visit to Gargiulo extra virgin olive oil factory. With breathtaking views over Sorrento, we take a stroll through orchards of olive, lemon and orange trees, where you will be surrounded by the perfume of the different blossoms. Enjoy a demonstration on the production of Olive Oil from the olive on the tree to the bottle. Followed by a delicious tasting of this fine Extra Virgin Olive Oil on freshly baked bread, also a surprise tasting ... great for any chocolate lovers!
On our way to the next stop we stop for a fantastic photo opportunity over the two bays - the bay of Salerno and the bay of Naples - with a bird's eye view of the famous Amalfi Drive.
Wine tasting at a local winery, full demonstration, visit to the cellar and tasting of up to 9 wines. A hobby adored by generation after generation turned in to a successful business, they now supply most of the hotels and restaurants in Sorrento. The newest addition to their line is the DOC 2006 red and white.
Heading into the hills above Sorrento it is time for Pizza Making. Your chef ‘Lucio’ will give you tips on making the best pizza, then it is HANDS ON, make your own pizza! The pizza is then cooked in a wood burning oven for you to eat for lunch, accompanied with local wine and soft drinks.
After your wonderful pizza lunch we head to a family business for some Limoncello tasting, Sorrento’s famous liquor well known and used as a digestive after a true Italian meal. Here in the company of Giuseppe you discover the art of making Limoncello, followed by lots of tasting including nut, orange, blueberry liquor. The family also produce chocolate filled with Limoncello cream, Rum Baba cakes and marmalades … you will be able to sample all of these locally made delicacies!
We now head back into the heart of Sorrento for Italy’s famous GELATO (similar to ice cream but not so frozen, and a lot tastier!) as they say 'no visit to Italy is the same without gelato’. Here we meet Mario, award winning celebrated TV personality, duly noted in RICK STEVES guide to Italy 2014. A 3rd generation master of the famous Sorrentine Gelato, Mario will happly show you the secrets to making the perfect Gelato with lots of tasting during the process.
